Graphite is a crystalline allotrope of carbon composed of hundreds of stacked graphene layers. It occurs naturally and represents the most thermodynamically stable form of carbon under standard conditions. Graphite exhibits excellent thermal stability, a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and outstanding electrical conductivity.
Applications:
- Electronics: Used in wafers, heat treatment, and heat sinks for high-temperature stability and conductivity.
- Continuous Casting: Controls metal flow and acts as a mold for copper alloys, precious metals, and cast iron.
- Aerospace: Used in engines, air conditioners, and fluid control parts.
- Others: Found in pump bearings, seals, golf shafts, and pencil leads.
